A full-service spirit shop for all of your event needs

Jonathan and Tracy Baker purchased the Spirit Shop on 280 Cole Ave in Williamstown in December 2008 when the previous owners, Ron and Paulette Gagnon, retired after 27 years. The Baker’s have just completed a full interior renovation including all-new wine racks and floors, as well as updating the coolers and expanding the space for their wine, liquor, and beer offerings. Their walk-in cooler can store hundreds of cases of beer as well as a wide selection of kegs including Rolling Rock, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Berkshire Brewing Company, Bud and Bud light, Long Trail, Magic Hat, and Sam Adams, just to name a few. They also offer an ever-growing selection of American craft brews and Belgian-style beers by the bottle like Ommegang and Chimay. Various popular brands of whiskey, rum, tequila, vodka, gin as well as cocktail mixers round out the liquor offering.

Wine is Jonathan’s passion and the Spirit Shop regularly hosts wine tastings and dinners at local restaurants. Baker, who is also on the Williamstown chamber of commerce board of directors and says, “I like to keep the events in town to support other businesses as much as I can.”

The Spirit Shop offers a wide selection of wine from California, Washington, Oregon, Chile, Argentina, Italy, France and Spain, as well as sparkling wine, Port, desert wine and cordials. Special-label bottles of Purple Cow cabernet and chardonnay with Williams College logos can be purchased and are popular with alumni for events and as gifts.

The Spirit Shop is also home to The Deli Station, a full-service deli and catering business run by Valerie Rowe. The deli offers hot and cold sandwiches, soups made fresh daily, party platters, garden and chef salads, and side salads. The Deli Station and Spirit Shop cater weddings and parties offering not only free delivery of food, wine, spirits and beer anywhere in the Berkshires, but also full-service off-premise bartending for parties and events.
